The Master’s of Software Engineering at University of Tartu gave me the tools and skills to develop myself as a computer science professional at a global level. It opened many doors for me not only in Europe but also in the U.S. startup arena where Estonia has a reputation for its lean and agile attitude and its high level of IT skills. I had barely graduated that I had already several options to pursue a career. On the end I settled for moving to NY to work in a global startup.
During the Master’s, I had the opportunity to conduct research in the Distributed Systems Research Group and also to get hands-on experience via an internship in a local company. So I can say I got the best of three worlds: top-level lectures, industry experience and research exposure. I also enjoyed the intensity of Tartu’s student life. Tartu is full of young energy and offers plenty of opportunities to fill up your nights and weekends, that is, if you have time.
Honestly, I could not have asked for more. I rate this program 12 on a scale of 1 to 10…
